As a volunteer, your most important role will be to cheer for, encourage, and support the riders throughout the day – so bring your energy and noisemakers!
The following volunteer opportunities are available on event day (shift times are subject to change). Every effort will be made to honor your preferred volunteer role, however assignments will be made based on our needs for the day.
Rider Registration
· Shift time: 5:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
· Assist with rider check-in before the staggered start times of the 10 mile, 25 mile, 50 mile, and 100 mile ride. At check-in, each rider will receive a rider envelope, goodie bag, rider t-shirt (and rider jersey if ordered)
Hospitality Tent
· Shift times: 6:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. / 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
· Serve beverages and light snacks, sell merchandise, serve as lost & found, provide event day information
Spirit Team
· Shift times: 6:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. / 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
· Cheer – the louder the better! Riders need support on campus and along the route!
Water stops
· Mount Holyoke College Water Stop – Shift time: 7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
· Montague Water Stop – Shift time: 9:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. / 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
· Smiarowski Farmstand & Creamy Water Stop – Shift time: 8:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
· Hampshire College/Back Gate Water Stop – Shift time: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
· Assist riders at one of the water stops along the route by handing out water and snacks
· Cheer – the louder the better! Riders need your support along the route!
Route Patrol
· Shift times vary by your assigned location along the route: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.
· Various roles: Motorcycle Patrol, Car Patrol, Stationed position along route
· Assist riders along the route as needed (dispatch first aid team and bike mechanics, encourage riders, etc.)
First Aid/Medical Team – Calling all RNs & medical personnel!
· Shift times vary by your assigned location: 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.
· Basic first aid is offered at water stops along the route and on campus
Family Fun
· Shift time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
· The Family Fun Center has a range of activities for the kids, including a bounce house, face painting and other games
